• Next Yearֳ Fitness Crazes

Predicting the future is a dangerous thing to do. Fifty years ago a lot people thought that we֤ all be taking holidays to the moon by 2012 and that we would all have our own personal jet pack.

So it would seem foolish to try and predict what the next Zumba-like fitness craze will be to sweep the country. Most people stick to jogging or swimming to keep themselves fit but when they get a bit bored with that they will look for something new to get their heart beating faster.

Some of these fitness fads may never take off while some of them, like Zumba, will fly and be incredibly popular.

    CrossFit

In our busy lives we are all searching for ways of keeping fit that we can fit into our schedules. We are working longer hours and are finding less and less time to move our bodies.

CrossFit only takes twenty heart pounding minutes to do. You have to be fit do it so donִ attempt it if you are not fit or they will be calling for the first aid kit.

The great thing about this exercise is that it crams an hourֳ worth of exercise into just twenty minutes. You are constantly on the move for the whole time and you will find yourself climbing ropes, flipping tires and lifting weights.

It is all done at a quick pace and a CrossFit programme is designed to build up your core conditioning as well as keeping you fit.

    Gangham Style Dance Workout

Zumba uses Latin American dance moves as the basis of its fitness programme. This workout uses Ӈangham styleӠmoves to help you get fitter.
Basically, Gangham style cardio involves aerobic moves that make you look like you are riding an invisible horse. The term Ӈangham StyleӠrefers to the lifestyle of the trendy and hip Gangham district of Seoul in South Korea.

It will really help to tone your legs and apparently British Prime Minister David Cameron is not averse to busting a few Gangham Style moves.

If you suffer from knee pain this may not be the exercise for you as your knees will take a pounding.

    Yogaology

Maureen Lipmanֳ Beatie character in the British Telecom adverts from the 80ֳ would love this exercise as it would give her an ҭologyӮ

It is currently the trendy exercise for the glitterati such as Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Aniston and Kate Beckinsale. The idea behind it is that it helps to create real relaxation in our over stressed world.

This ҭologyӠis based on Hatha yoga which has been around since the 15th century. But because it is based on postures, purification, gestures and meditation it has been taken up by A-list celebrities.

Like with ordinary yoga you will need to be agile to do it so whilst you may not break sweat you may need cold packs as you try to manoeuvre your body into position. However, if you can master it you will find that your circulation will improve and your energy levels will increase as well as relieving muscle pain and stiffness.
