• Team Emotional @PhysioRoom.com – How it all began!

The concept behind Team Emotional was born almost four years ago in what we had initially anticipated as being a leisurely stroll through some of the finest and most scenic views west Scotland had to offer along the Highland Way. A three and a half day 95 mile journey turned into an epic adventure as the British weather served what felt like one of the wettest months on record, 10 hour walking days along a sodden terrain with Bergen were followed by equally damp nights sleeping in our single person tents. My first taste of wild camping was not the ultimate back to nature experience I had hoped for, cooking became nigh on impossible and I missed the creature comforts of home. We awoke in a wind and rain swept field with no toilet or washing facilities putting on wet clothes knowing once again that come night fall we would be unwrapping and unraveling wet sleeping quarters. Progress was slow, physically the demands of the route were easily handled, but psychologically we had to fight the constant urge of throwing in the towel and giving up. Of the 25 people who started this journey only seven fully completed it and it was then that these Elite Seven were dubbed Քeam Emotionalՠby myself Ben Քhe MasheenՠDinnery and my good friend James ՈardcoreՠClark an ex PT instructor in the forces.

Emotional was our passage to achieve whatever goal we had set, to experience every possible human emotion. Your inner strength to continue and defy your yearning to give up, to achieve and push yourself further than you had ever done before. You see we are all different, a return from serious injury, a voyage for the first time, covering a distance you never thought possible, challenging your body and pushing yourself to the brink. Emotional is what it is and Emotional is what you make it, it’s your challenge.

So with our own adopted title, Team Emotional, we began competing and taking part in a number of different events both here and abroad, each time raising the team profile and diversifying into un-chartered territories. Gradually the team grew and challenges became more and more varied and intense to the point when in 2010 we originally entered 11 competitors into the Ben Nevis Triathlon although due to injury only seven managed to take part. For the team this was a huge milestone, we went from Jolly Boys Club to being recognised as a team in our own rite. It was for this event that we were approached by PhysioRoom.com, and after agreeing the finer details we were unveiled as the official group bearing the name

Since its inception numbers have steadily grown, and as a close knit unit we have a undertaken and completed a number of challenges raising thousands of pounds for well deserving charities including Macmillan and Help for Heroes.

Through the site and social networking platforms we hope to formalise, record and document some of our exploits, highlighting the good work of the squad. We are always looking to grow the brand, the team and hopefully firmly establish ourselves as a competing unit so welcome any input, advice or stories regarding your personal Emotional challenge to achieve your particular goal.
