Supports and Braces for Repetitive Stress Injuries

In normal circumstances the pressure within the Carpal Tunnel is less than 10mmHg, but in patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome this pressure rises to above 30mmHg due to swelling. During wrist movements the pressure in the Carpal Tunnel can rise to over 90mmHg. Increased pressure leads to increased symptoms, such as burning pain, tingling and numbness. Research has shown that using a wrist brace to prevent wrist movement is effective in relieving Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in over 80% of patients. Our first featured support is a basic wrist support with a supportive splint and Velcro strap to keep the wrist in a neutral position. This relieves the pressure in the Carpal Tunnel and provides relief from symptoms. Take a look at the McDavid Carpal Tunnel CTS Wrist Support now by clicking here!

Another of our favourite RSI supports caters for a range of injuries by incorporating removable stabilisers, which you can add or remove depending on the type of support you require. This adjustability adds to the overall comfort of the brace, which is made from a fully-washable Breath-O-Prene fabric to help keep the wrist keep dry and ventilated. The dual stabilisers - one which fits onto the inside of your wrist and one which fits onto the outside - help keep the wrist secure and supported. The thumb spica, meanwhile, provides that extra stability to the thumb. Check out the Aircast A2 Wrist Brace with Thumb Spica now by clicking here!

Finally we have a brace that is an immobilisation system for use during rehabilitation of a number of injuries including; chronic and post traumatic injury, nerve paralysis, sprains, following use of plaster cast and rheumatoid arthritis. Featuring an aluminium stabiliser system which is designed to encase the wrist and offer maximum support, this support is made of skin-friendly material and cotton lycra to prevent against allergic reactions and to provide a comfortable rehabilitation experience for the wearer.
