Rotator Cuff Calcific Tendonitis is a fairly common cause of shoulder pain, which is difficult to distinguish from rotator cuff tendonitis or a torn rotator cuff. The rotator cuff muscles (Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, Subscapularis, Teres Minor) are responsible for stabilising the shoulder joint and can get injured due to overuse.
Rotator Cuff Calcific Tendonitis is characterised by calcium deposits in the tendons of the rotator cuff muscles of the shoulder. Physiotherapy treatment is usually very effective.
