Hot Packs & Wraps

Heat therapy and hot and cold therapy are common treatment modalities used by physiotherapists in the treatment of sports injuries. Therapeutic heat can relieve muscle spasm, reduce pain and increase blood flow to the injured area. These therapeutic effects of heat speed up the healing process of a sports injury. Hot pack products come in the form of mouldable gel hot packs, instant heat packs, reusable hot packs, heat wraps wheateeze wheat hot packs and warm packs.

Mouldable gel hot packs can be warmed in the microwave oven and then give therapeutic heat. Instant heat packs are ideal if you don't have access to a microwave because they give off heat from a chemical reaction once the pack is twisted and the ingredients are mixed together.

Heat wraps by Mueller work like mouldable gel heat packs but they also have a fabric wrap to keep them in position.

Wheateeze heat pack products are fabric bags that contain wheat. Once heated in the microwave the Wheateeze bags give off a comfortable therapeutic heat. The fabric bags of the Wheateeze heat packs can be moulded to shape so they are great no matter which part of the body you have to treat. Wheateeze hot packs come as a neck pack, lower back pack, full back pack, hand warmer and an ankle and foot warmer.

Therapeutic heat is an excellent treatment for low back pain, slipped disc, herniated disc, facet syndrome, sacro iliac joint pain, muscle strains and arthritis of the knees, hips and hands.
