A recap...

The Red Half of Manchester remained strong against the emergence of their rivals the Blue of City who finish a disappointing third when all around thought that this could've been their year. Most of the top sides faired quite well in terms of long term absences: Man United - Valencia dislocated ankle (Sept '10 - Mar '11) and Chelsea - Lampard Hernia (Aug '10 - Dec '10) were part of the unlucky few. But it was the Gunners who were hampered once again seeing them lose over 1400 days due to injury which may have impacted on a season outside of the Top 3 and the missing Belgian star defender Vermaelen with Achilles Tendinopathy (Sept '10 - Apr '11).

At the other end of the table West Hams' campaign got off to a poor start with new signing Hitzlsperger rupturing a thigh muscle in August ruling the attacking German out till February '11.

The accolade for the season's most unfortunate player must go to Stoke forward Mamady Sidibe who ruptured an Achilles in August '10 only to return in January '11 and suffer the same problem in February '11, we wish him well in his recovery and hope to see a return to the EPL soon.

Other notable absences for season include Craig Gordon who suffered knee problems from February last year and Fraizer Campbell who injured an ACL in August '10.
