Donjoy Four Points of Leverage™ System

Donjoy’s Four Points of Leverage™ system is a patented knee brace design that provides knee protection by specifically preventing forward movement of the shin in relation to the thigh bone. This is especially protective of the ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament). This is acheived through a combination of the lightweight knee brace frame and the Velcro straps which stabilise the brace.

Donjoy Standard Polycentric Hinge

The axis of rotation of this patented Donjoy hinge changes through knee range of movement – which is exactly how the knee joint moves. By reproducing normal knee joint mechanics the Polycentric Hinge allows full knee function while protecting against combined ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament), PCL (Posterior Cruciate Ligament), MCL (Medial Collateral Ligament) and LCL (Lateral Collateral Ligament) injuries.

Donjoy Fourcepoint™ Hinge

Donjoy’s Fourcepoint™ Hinge is the only knee brace hinge that has scientific evidence to prove that it protects the ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) from injury. It uses a patented spring mechanism within the hinge to apply controlled resistance to knee movement which:

• Dampens knee locking out, so there is no harsh movement as the knee straightens.
• Reduces time at knee extension - the danger position for the ACL.
• Prevents forward movement of the shin in relation to the thigh.

Five different levels of resistance can be set by adjusting the hinge with the supplied tool. A simple change of screw position can change the angle of knee bend at which the resistance is applied. It’s simple to get total protection for your knee.
