Lightweight night splint sock that relieves Plantar Fasciitis by stretching the sole of the foot during sleep.
Wear it at night to relieve heel pain and sole of the foot pain due to Plantar Fasciitis.
Sold individually (not in pairs). Fits left or right foot. Measure around the widest point of the Calf.
It's so simple. Research has shown that stretching the Plantar Fascia (sole of the foot) at night helps to relieve Plantar Fasciitis and that's what the Strassburg Sock does. It fits like a normal sock but the toes can be pulled back towards the knee using a Velcro and fabric strip. This puts the ankle and foot in a 'dorsi-flexed' position that stretches the Plantar Fascia. When the Plantar Facia is stretched for a sustained period during the night the tissue heals in a better position. This can reduce and relieve the symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis and heel pain.

The splint sock is much more convenient, comfortable and easier to store than the alternative of the rigid night splint. I have both and ended up only using the sock. In practice, both are more than adequate in keeping the calf muscle stretched. It certainly has been relieving the amount of pain I get in the morning. I shall see if the plantar fasciitis resolves itself over the next few months.

Physiotherapist told me to get this and it is useful but very expensive and I feel that a crepe bandage could have been used instead.

Fantastic, what a difference this sock has made, I can walk in a morning without hobbling around. Takes a while to get use to it but after a couple of nights it's fine. I would certainly recommend anyone trying this if they have severe achilles problems.

In my possession for less than a week and I'm already feeling the benefits! Although I use a synergistic approach, there is no doubting the positive effects of the Strassburg Sock. Lightweight and unobtrusive, it also travels well.
It takes a couple of nights to get used to, after which time, you'll forget you're wearing it.
Perhaps a more structured sock foot would be even more beneficial but that aside, I can't really fault it thus far.

I had plantar problems for months and read all the usual stuff about resting for weeks etc which did little to help. I wore the sock for four or five days and had no more problems. Highly recommended.

Having suffered from PF for over 3 years & tried everything bar. surgery,I can wholeheartedly recommend the strassburg sock.(Have tried ice,anti-inflammatories,G.P. -prescription only painkillers, cortisone injections,Both NHS & Private chiropodists, various night splints & spent & fortune on accupuncture sessions, which did incidentally help to a good degree.Various expensive & inexpensive insoles & stretching.) Anyway the bottom line is I have tried loads to relieve the nightmare of PF & THIS sock really helped. It has not cured it completely but has def. given me relief & a large chunk of my life back.
I HAVE not found it uncomfortable to sleep in at all,it took at most 2 nights to get used too.Always make sure it is put on as per. instructions & don't lift toes more than it says off ground to secure strap or it will be uncomfortable.A gentle stretch is all that you are aiming for.
I completely recommend this product.

Additional comments from The PhysioRoom.com Team
With this product there will be a short period of getting used to it. As with any exercise your body is not used to, there is a period of discomfort until the body responds. With this condition it is until the tissue in the sole heals.
