I have found the Mcdavid universal back support a godsend, I do a repetitive job where I am stood in one place for long periods of time. I have found wearing the back support has eradicated the twinges and niggles I used to feel. Excellent product.

This probably doesn't fix the problem on its own, but it significantly reduces pain and allows more mobility, so is well worth getting. As someone else said, if you are in any doubt which of two sizes to get, get the larger one.

A vast improvement on the previous back support. This is less bulky, light and still gives the support I need with degenerative spondylitis with a scoliosis. The previous model added about 3-4 ins to my waist making all my skirts and trousers difficult to zip up. It is also not so hot in fine weather being made of lighter fabric.

I was marathon training and was suffering severe back pain that meant I simply couldn't do the miles needed. It got so bad I decided I couldn't do the race and stopped training for a couple of weeks when someone suggested buying a back support. As this belt had good reviews I got one and the following day ran 18 miles slowly with much less pain. Last weekend (a week later)I did 20 miles at a good pace (for me) with NO PAIN AT ALL . This is the best buy ever for me. Comfortable and light it didn't cause sweating or rub although it has to be worn over a layer of clothing. Not cheap but it has transformed my running and is worth every penny.

Nowhere on the website description does it mention that there is a "warning" in the instructions not to wear it for more than 2-3 hours. Also on the label attached to the product it states "WARNING: this product should not be worn directly next to the skin". I feel it would be helpful if this information was to be disclosed in the website description, readers should not be expected to deduce this from a picture when trying to make an informed decision.
That said, I have worn it next to the skin for up to eight hours (as I have with other very similar types that did not carry such warnings) and found it comfortable and a big help with a weak muscle in my lower back.

Ive had back pain for years but since having this belt I feel 100% better
I wear it when Im working (painting DIY etc) and not like before I can carry on without having to sit down and rest my back excellent!!!

An excellent support; I totally recommend it for golfers with lower back problems. Other hidden extras are it's very light weight and when worn under your clothing nobody can tell you've got it on.

Great support for lower back and sides, but when I play tennis the side supports keep on unfastening after 10 minutes. I presume it would work fine if you are not planning to play sports where you move and sweat a lot. If you are in between sizes I recommend you choose the bigger one.
