After a lifetime of ankle issues due to having my foot reconstructed as a child I have finally found a product that allows me to participate fully in my favourite sports with minimum fear of injury.
At over £50 the McDavid Ankle X is not cheap but worth every penny. Lightweight, superb construction and despiter a bulky appearance it's easy to wear whatever form of footwear you choose (maybe you could rule out flip flops).

Having suffered a serious spain I wanted the maximum protection. Whilst this feels very secure it's a little too bulky for me. I've got small-ish ankles and ordered the correct size for my feet, however it doesn't fit that comfortably in my trainer, infact I'd say it's stretched them about the sides.

Really great product, supports the ankle very well, very stable especially if you're prone to ankle injuries. Great for American Football when changing direction!

Having had many many ankle issues this is by far the best brace i have tried. I really have given it some stick (and so has the dog when he got hold of it) but it has been great. I wear it for all kinds of sports but mainly football (a little bulky but you get used to it) badminton and paintball but in all it has been stable and allowed me to move. Would love it to be cheaper but you get what you pay for.....
