A knee high pneumatic walking brace for a higher risk diabetic patient.
It features an adjustable pneumatic cushioning system, plus a high rocker sole and dual density insole to reduce pressure on the diabetic foot.
Based on UK shoe size:
Four AirCells inside the hard plastic shell can be custom inflated using the hand bulb (included) for a 'total contact' fit. This provides protection, immobilization and compression for a swollen foot, reducing swelling and pain. A high rocker sole and dual density insole provide maximum off-loading of the diabetic foot and help to eliminate pressure points. The Aircast XP Walker can be taken off to allow rehab exercises and foot washing. This improves hygiene, helps prevent ankle stiffness and muscle wastage.

I have found this very effective in reducing swelling and immobilising my foot following foot surgery. It is infinitely preferable to the other option of a plaster cast as it can be removed at any time, particularly helpful as the foot wound needed surgical dressing. The worst thing about it was that it caused a postural imbalance by adding to the affected leg length and meant my pelvis was at an angle. This led to considerable back pain. However I partly solved this by buying trainers with an extra deep sole for the other foot which meant my pelvis was no longer at quite such a painful angle. The rocker took a day or two to get used to, and going up hills was quite hard but after a week, I had got used to it. I was told that I wouldn't need a stick but have found that a stick helps with balance. Altogether it seems to be a very good piece of equipment.

After crushing my Calcaneus Bone I had a steel plate and 9 titanium screws inserted in my heel, this boot is you’re KEY to determine the speed & amount of mobility you will regain after this sort of injury.
It will allow you to walk again and compress any swelling around the heel and reduce any pain. My surgery was in September 2010 and I still wear my boot if my ankle is swollen or painful.
This is been my lifeline in my recovery after this traumatic injury.
