When can I use it?
Use this product following knee injuries and knee surgery. It provides one hour of ice and compression for the treatment of all knee injuries, such as Medial knee ligament sprains, Cartilage tears, and ACL injuries; and following knee arthroscopy and knee surgery.
How does it work?
The Aircast Knee Cryo/Cuff™ (Self Contained) is an easy to use device which uses ice and cold water to provide cold therapy and compression in the treatment of knee injuries.
Simply add water and ice and the Aircast Knee Cryo/Cuff™ (Self Contained) will provide an hour of cold therapy. Compression is provided by inflating the cuff using the hand bulb (included).

The cuff is easy to use and excellent to use on a knee after operation. It was difficult to fill with ice cubes and I ordered some stick moulds 14cm long, whist they were better than small ice cubes smaller sticks would have fitted in the channels better. Internet sites did have smaller stick but from the USA, going there soon so shall buy some. Perhaps it shall be sold with an ice cube tray.

For context I ordered the cryo-cuff 6 days after an ACL reconstruction. It was delivered 2 days after ordering (and the order was made late at night) and after one day of use the swelling has reduced along with the pain, despite coinciding with a reduction in painkillers. I only wish I had ordered this after first being injured as I could have accelerated my pre-hab significantly.

After having trufit Osteochondral grafting, I was sceptical of purchasing a fairly expensive icepack to aid the swelling reduction. Recovery from this op is quite lengthy (well in my opinion) Three months later I am still using the cryo cuff to help after excercise; I am now only using it once a day rather than every other hour. Speaking to some of my fellow patients they are still suffering problems from the swelling, and I am now well in advance of them in terms of recovery.
I think this is one of the best investments I have made to aid my recovery, and it is worth its weight in gold

3 weeks after a knee arthroscopy I still have considerable swelling and could not fully straighten or bend my knee. I was recomended the cryo cuff by my physio, although not the self contained one, but the this is the one i eventualy bought. It has reduced my knee swelling over 3 days use so much. It stays ice cold for about an hour, depending how much ice you put it (it will hold an entire std ice trays worth of ice). The hand pump works well but i'd prefer more pressure. Its very expensive but its also very effective. One tip, before putting on check the inner part you put on your skin is dry as it can freeze. Its open at the back and over the knee cap.
