Henry's problem

Thierry HenryHenry left the field during the 2003-04 Champions League match with Chelsea, clutching his left hamstring. Coach Arsene Wenger initially feared he would lose his star player for three weeks due to a muscle strain, but scans revealed no muscle fibre damage. Instead the problem was attributed to the return of a back condition that had affected the Frenchman intermittently since his time at AS Monaco in 1998, and that requires constant attention from the Arsenal medical team.

The player revealed, "This is a tricky injury for me day in, day out. I have a disc that gets jammed in my back. When my back is not responding well to treatment it upsets the nerves in my legs so I feel blocked. It's not the kind of injury that you can say 'yes' or 'no' - sometimes it depends on how you wake up."
