• How to Tape your Knees like Rafael Nadal

Do you suffer from knee pain due to Patella Tendonitis?

Champion Rafael Nadal has been plagued by Patella Tendonitis in the past and gets relief by using a Patella Tendon taping technique.

How can Patella Tendon taping help Patella Tendonitis?

Patella Tendon taping applies a compression force to the tendon which reduces its girth. This prevents maximum force from being transferred through the Patella Tendon and this relieves the painful symptoms of Patella Tendonitis.

If you don’t have a physio to apply your Patella Tendon tape job why not use a Knee Strap? You can easily apply a Knee Strap yourself, time and time again.

How to apply the Patella Tendon Taping Technique

    Step 1

The tape (we recommend using Trainer’s Tape) is applied with the knee bent. The tape starts by going circumferentially around the upper shin.

A small amount of underwrap in the Popliteal fossa prevents pinching.

    Step 2

The tape is passed round once…

    Step 3

    then twisted…

    Step 4

    several times…

    Step 5

in order to make a thicker band over the Patella tendon.

    Step 6

Then the tape is passed around again…

    Step 7

    and the twisting repeated..

    Step 8

to form a second thicker band.

    Step 9

The flat tape is passed around again…

    Step 10

    and this time kept flat…

    Step 11

    to finish off.
