Ice therapy is also known as cryotherapy or cold therapy and is an integral part of the treatment of sports injuries. Ice therapy is used in the early (acute) stage of a sports injury to relieve pain, prevent swelling, cool tissue temperature and prevent further tissue damage following the initial injury.

Ice therapy can be applied as reusable ice packs, reusable hot / cold therapy packs, instant ice packs or ice bags. Ice packs and wraps are great following knee surgery such as arthroscopy, meniscectomy and ligament reconstruction, in order to prevent swelling relieve pain and improve knee range of movement. By controlling pain and swelling these ice therapy products can speed up sports injury and knee surgery rehabilitation. Instant ice packs are perfect if you don't have access to a fridge or freezer. Instant ice packs don't need ice as they work from a chemical reaction once you twist the pack to mix the ingredients.
